Principal Statistician
Issoufou Seidou Sanda is principal statistician at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. He is an economist-statistician with a background in economic statistics, development management, and data science. In recent years, his work at ECA focused on data collection and economic analysis about economic diversification and structural transformation, methodological issues about the System of National Accounts and how it captures well-being and other non-market outputs, the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting, and other natural capital accounting systems. He has also a strong interest in blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies, machine learning, and their applications in social and economic development in Africa.
