Thomas Sberna

Thomas is a conservationist that has been working in the Nature-People-Climate nexus for almost 15 years. With international work experience in a wide range of institutions, from grassroots organisation to protected area administration, from development finance institution to INGO and intergovernmental organisation, Thomas thrive in fast paced and challenging environments, where innovation and entrepreneurship is required to design unique solutions to accelerate and scale up impact on the ground. Thomas is currently based out of IUCN’s regional office in Nairobi from where he covers Eastern and Southern Africa (including the Western Indian Ocean region) and coordinates the development of the Great Blue Wall initiative.
